Our objective is to ensure that all of our workforce operates in a way that supports a reduction in carbon emissions each and every day. The Board of Directors review this strategy on an annual basis, with our progress documented for our "Journey to Net Zero".

To further enable this change, we are currently investigating ways to reduce carbon on every contract. Active monitoring is making a significant difference in the way our people think and act. Site-based data enables us to isolate the emissions produced and the fuel issued at our depots, which encourages Senior Managers to take pride as their guidance results in a downward trend. 
We do appreciate that the decarbonisation of our services will not happen overnight, and will also not take place without the investment of time, resources and effort, we actively invest in innovative solutions by working within our contract teams to identify more efficient ways of working.

REDUCING OUR CARBON FOOTPRINT

For year-on-year reductions, we follow the three-stage model recommended by the Carbon Trust. We also measure emissions on an annual basis. This includes fuel for cars, vans and trucks along with electricity and water consumption and business travel.

REDUCING OUR CARBON FOOTPRINT

We have successfully achieved external re-certification through CEMARS and obtained a ‘gold certificate’ as a recognised carbon reducer over the last decade. We see working in partnership with our clients' as an ideal method to intensify our efforts, and to help spread best practice and learning from our contracts to other areas. In doing this, we aim to become an example of best practice and set the standard within our sector. We also recognise environmental compliance and governance. All have a moral duty to preserve and limit our impact on the environment.

We operate with environmental integrity and consider our environmental duty of care throughout all of our operations. As well as identifying, assessing, recording and communicating environmental risks and issues throughout the business, from strategic to individual contract team level, we work hard to invest and support innovations that truly make a difference in these areas.

 The aim of our strategy is to create a sustainable transport fleet that is updated as emerging technology is available, mitigating environmental degradation by reducing fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.

We have worked with MGP&FS to invest in new solar technology which reduce noise, fuel use, and CO2 emissions; providing a sustainable source of energy and creating a more efficient welfare solution.
